This is the second year for “Fundamentally Americana”, a mix made for a gathering on July 4, America’s Independence Day. Once again, originally intended simply for the gathering, it has found its way onto “Radio Etiopia” through the good graces of The Cardinal and The Bishop, spiritual leaders of this site. I apologize to anyone who may notice a couple of repeats from last year, although the Beefheart track is a brand new, crisp-as-DDTsprayed-lettuce remix of the awesome “Floppy Boot Stomp”.

It would be pleasant to report that things have improved since this time last year but why lie? America celebrates its freedom – and the whole concept thereof – while still unmanned drones reign down on Afghani civilians, multi-national mega-corporations run riot over the individual and the insidious forces of the right ramp up the propaganda and continue to stymie the very process of government in their effort to rid this country of the concept they find so offensive – democracy.
November will tell the world whether or not the people of the United States believe in what their governments claim they are exporting abroad.
Universal suffrage over universal suffering …. VOTE!
